Amble Town Council have given Amble schoolchildren a specially decorated mug in commemoration of the coronation of King Charles III.

The mugs are decorated in one of two styles and were given to children at Amble First School, Amble Links First School, and James Calvert Spence College.

Craig Weir, the Mayor of Amble handed out the mugs to the children on 3 and 4 May. He told staff and pupils at JCSC, “I was there for Queen Elizabeth II Coronation all those years ago and it was a great honour to get a commemorative mug. I’ve kept that with me all these years. I’m sure in the years to come, the children will do the same with their mugs.”

There are some additional mugs for sale from Amble Town Council priced at £6. Contact the council directly if you would like one. They can be reached by email: ask@amble.gov.uk  or by phone: 01665 714 695
