Sunday 11 June
Shortly before 9.15pm on Sunday (June 11) police received a report of a one-vehicle collision on Percy Drive in Amble. Three people were arrested in connection with the report and enquiries are ongoing.

Police have also told The Ambler that enquiries are still ongoing with the incident in August last year when a vehicle crashed into a wall on Percy Drive.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “We all have a responsibility to make our roads as safe as they possibly can be for all users.

“We are constantly exploring ways to promote and improve road safety, and we have ran a number of dedicated operations aimed at reducing the number of serious or fatal collisions on our roads.

“Statistics show that drivers travelling at excess speed is one of the major contributory factors in serious and fatal road traffic collisions and that’s why we will continue to actively enforce speed limits across our Force area when it is appropriate to do so.

“We’d ask all road users to work with us by being considerate of others – and look to keep each other as safe as possible.

“If you see anybody driving dangerously on our roads, you can make a report or upload dashcam footage directly to our website. In an emergency, always ring 999.”
