Amble Repair Café
A new Repair Café is to be trialled in Amble, supported by Dry Water Arts.
Repair Cafés are community events where people can bring along broken or damaged household items, and skilled, competent volunteers who like fixing things will try to repair them.

Attendees are also invited to learn how to fix their own broken items alongside the repairers, and of course share the stories of treasured possessions.
By repairing things, we can keep much-loved, useful things working longer, reduce waste and save all the materials, energy and cash needed to make and transport new things.
A key part of Repair Café events is the focus on building community and bringing people together to support each other in a fun, interesting and sociable way, with plenty of tea and cake (refreshments will be available).
The pilot event will be held on Saturday 19 July 2pm – 5pm at DryWater Arts, in Amble.
It is hoped to be able to repair small electrical items, clothing, toys, ceramics, small furniture, phones; offer a sharpening service for knives and garden tools; plus, IT advice.
Although no charge will be made for the repairs, donations will be welcomed to cover costs of consumables and venue hire etc.
If you like fixing things and would like to get involved as a volunteer repairer, please get in touch: AmbleRepairCafe@gmail.com
