Lifeboat Day returns – with special guest

Amble RNLI Harbour Day, takes place on Sunday 28 August on Radcliffe Quay in front of the Lifeboat Station.

The day kicks off at 10am with the Opening Service conducted by the Rev. John McDermott. Ross Hutchinson, who presents Tyne Tees Weather, will be opening proceedings.

This is a fun day out for all the family. Look out for the RNLI mascot Stormy Stan. Meet the crew. Have your photograph taken with some classic Harley Davidson motorcycles. Several entertainers will be there including American folk singer Tom O’Donnell. Meet the Queen’s Own Yeomanry.

There will be lots of stalls and a grand raffle with many prizes including a painting by talented local artist Luke McTaggart and a two-night stay at the RNLI College in Poole.

Teas, coffees and delicious sweet and savoury homemade treats will be served upstairs in the RNLI Lifeboat House.

Please can you help us with:-Donations of items to sell i.e. books, tombola prizes, Bric a Brac (no electrical items). These can be dropped off from Wednesday 24 August at the RNLI boathouse or contact us as below.

Calling all bakers! Your home baked goods can be left at the station on Saturday 27 throughout the day.
Helpers are needed on the day to man stalls and assist with refreshments.

    It was my first Amble lifeboat day and really enjoyed the day.i was one of the helpers on the knit and natter stall.Thank you all for being so friendly and keeping us fed and watered.I hope that the day went well for you as you must work really hard making this day a success.
