A quick appeal for help. We know that some of you like your Ambler so much that you keep back numbers. We do too, but regularly get asked for them. We recently had to part with our last copy of Issue 39 and a reader has asked for copies of Issues 1 – 32. If anyone has any of these numbers, all contributions would be gratefully received.

We’d like to give a pat on the back to the valiant efforts of the volunteers involved with Amble in Bloom, led by Coun. Weir. The entrances to the town are now looking much brighter, with tubs of flowers, and the Town Square is being weeded and tidied up. We know they still need more help, so if you can offer some assistance, and for the latest information on when help is needed, Coun Weir’s contact details are here.

It was good to see that JCSC (formerly Coquet High) has won awards in two recent competitions. They won a Student Businesses Finalists award and first place in the Hexham Rotary Club Young designer of the Year competition. Well done all.

It’s good that the town’s skatepark is now officially open. It has been quite a lengthy process, but now it is officially there, we hope that Amble’s young people enjoy it and use it well. You can watch a video of action on the opening day and an interview with one of the young campaigners on our website: www.theambler.co.uk
