Do you know where your children are tonight in Amble?

Posted on 23rd February 2023 | in Community , Police

We have been informed that youths in the Amble area have been involved in Anti-social behaviour tonight (22/02/23).  Reports have consisted of youths around the Queen Street area kicking at the doors of elderly residents.  We are working to identify the youths involve and deal with them as appropriate.

I would however ask any parents to make sure that they know what their children are doing and where they are.

If you should become aware of their involvement in any anti-social activities that you speak with them and ask them how they would feel if this was their relatives being subjected to this type of behaviour.

Should anyone also have any information identifying these youths please forwarded it to Northumbria Police either via the 101 system or through the web portal – Home : Northumbria Police

I know this article is about issues in the area and it’s really not good. But please “youths” ? It’s such a derogatory term. I know the article is not meant to paint them in the most gleaming light but language does matter.
“Young People” might have read better.

Youth is not a derogatory word. It perfectly describes the individuals ages. Calling them feral little urchins would be derogatory for example
