Coquet Vets offer training space and expertise

Coquet Vets are utilising the upstairs floor of their practice building to offer practical training sessions for veterinary professionals.

Emily Renton

Clinical Director Emily Renton told The Ambler, “We are proud to be an independent veterinary practice. As part of our Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons registration we complete a number of hours of continuous professional development (CPD) every year. There’s a definite lack of practical courses for vets and nurses in the North of England, so we’ve decided to utilise some of our upstairs space so that these can be held here in Amble.”

Courses such as practical dentistry, emergency abdominal surgery and nurse surgery will be on offer to vets and vet nurses from all around the region. The practical venue and lecture space will also be available for other CPD providers to rent, as well as on offer to anyone that needs somewhere to hold lectures or courses.

Dog training in Amble
In addition, dog owners in Amble will benefit from the change around at the practice. Dog First Aid, CPR and puppy training classes can all be held in the new upstairs space and the outside area.

A Young Dog and Puppy Ownership course will be offered, the first one is running in the summer in collaboration with Cameron Brown of CK Training. This course is for owners of puppies and dogs aged 12 weeks to six months. On Sunday 28 July there will be a theory session for owners, with a second practical class held on Saturday 3 August.
