The Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland presented Amble Development Trust with the King’s Award in December. The prestigious award is the equivalent of an MBE for organisations, and is given in recognition of all the volunteers who have given their time and efforts – to the board of Amble Development Trust, and their community projects – over the last 31 years.

Chair of Amble Development Trust Paul Rigby told The Ambler, “It is wonderful that the Amble Development Trust has been recognised at the highest level. The award truly is a credit to all the volunteers and supporters of the Trust who do so much for the benefit of Amble.

📷 Volunteers and community representatives were invited to the presentation event.

“After the presentation, we had a great party to start off the Christmas season. Caroline Pryer as representative to his Royal Highness, the King was immensely impressed by Amble’s community spirit. Dr Pryer chatted with guests, Trust representatives and volunteers, hearing past stories and anecdotes while viewing archive photos and videos. It was a memorable afternoon for all involved.”
