Amble bank hub now open on Queen Street
Amble’s bank hub has relocated to the former TSB building on Queen Street. Since the closure of the last bank in the town in 2025, there has been a banking hub service at the Dovecote Centre. Now the hub has moved to its permanent home on the main shopping street.

It was officially opened by MP David Smith on 13 March. David said the loss of individual banks in local communities was concerning. It was for that reason he was a big fan of the banking hub system and was keen for it to be rolled out in other towns.
The hub is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions.
A community banker service is also available where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on allocated days:
Mon – Lloyds
Tue – NatWest
Wed – Barclays
Thu – Halifax
Fri – TSB
At the banking hub, customers can withdraw and deposit cash (notes and coin), deposit cheques, pay utility bills, check account balance, and registered business customers can collect change.
Bank hub manager Jonathan Philips told The Ambler they had been really busy since opening on the street, with lots of people popping in to see what services they offered.

Exacttly the venue I recommended a while ago instead of the PO.
