Swimmers, dippers, kayakers and paddle boarders are invited to come along and enjoy the beach and meet Fenwick. Everyone is invited to gather on the beach to take part.
Julia Chambers of the Coquet River Action Group said ‘Thanks to the support of local organisation, clubs, community groups, businesses and local landowners, we are thrilled that we stand a chance of being awarded Bathing Water Status which will help protect future water quality on this lovely beach’.
Judith Gleave, founder member of the Amble Swimblers added ‘The Little Shore is used all year round by dippers, swimmers, kayakers and boarders and it’s just fantastic that more people will feel confident knowing when the water is safe and clean’.
The Big Splash is happening as part of Amble’s annual Puffin Festival which includes live music, a craft fair, guided nature walks, bird watching, local history and nature talks, exhibitions, workshops and children’s entertainment.
