Adam’s ‘iconic performance’
Cricket is a special game, where unforgettable moments define every match. On Saturday 25 July 2026, was no different when Warkworth Cricket Club icon Adam Jobson arguably produced the best batting performance at Castle Field.
The Green and Golds were staring at defeat until Jobson walked into the crease, he stared his team mate Ritchie Carruthers in the eyes and stated ‘I’m winning this’. He was to be proved right.
The hosts were 168/4 with 7 overs to go chasing 226. The home side put on 67 and Jobson got 53. Adam later described this iconic performance as ‘I felt like Stokesy at Headingley’.
This win now should keep Warkworth Cricket Club Seconds in the division after a couple of Yo Yo seasons of promotion and relegation before sealing another promotion last season.
Adam said ‘I was feeling fatigued, we had good conversations with the board and we feel aligned and hopefully we can succeed and if we stop up at the end of the season, because make no mistake about it we’re not out the woods yet, I will be naturally delighted’.
