Poppy organiser wanted
The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal will need a volunteer organiser from 2027.
After five wonderful years supporting the event across Amble, Warkworth and Hadston, 2026 will be my final year as local organiser.
It has been a real privilege to support such an important cause, but due to growing commitments, the time has come for me to hand over the role to someone new.
We are therefore looking for a friendly and committed Volunteer Poppy Appeal Organiser to take on this rewarding role from 2027 onwards.
No formal qualifications are needed — just enthusiasm for the RBL Poppy Appeal and a genuine interest in supporting the Armed Forces community and their families. A small amount of storage space would be helpful, although additional space is available at a unit in Morpeth.
Access to transport is essential, as the role involves delivering and collecting donation boxes at the beginning and end of the annual campaign.
You would not be doing this on your own. Excellent support is available from Steve Wilson, Regional Support Manager, as well as from a dedicated team of local volunteers who help staff the collection table in Morrisons, Amble, during the campaign each year.
If you are interested in getting involved, or would simply like to find out more about what the role involves, please get in touch:
