SeaWaves Jewellery’s Global Award
Congratulations to Karen Watmough, owner of SeaWaves Jewellery in Amble Harbour Village, which has been recognised with two major honours celebrating both innovation and excellence within the jewellery industry.
The business has been granted a Global Award at the Prestige Business Awards, for Innovation and Excellence, recognising not only the distinctive coastal-inspired jewellery SeaWaves creates, but also the journey behind the brand.

The award was accepted on behalf of Karen, who lives with severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), a long-term neurological condition causing extreme pain and debilitating neurological symptoms, often resulting in long periods of being housebound.
The judges acknowledged the huge challenges which Karen has overcome to build and sustain the business, which led to SeaWaves winning the Global award!
Furthermore, they also won the Regional Award for the North of England, celebrating the strength of the wider team behind the brand.
Recognition was given to Chelsea Wilson (pictured), SeaWaves’ manager and talented silversmith, whose skill, leadership and creativity have helped steer the business forward during periods when Karen, has had to step back from daily operations.
Both awards mark a very important milestone – recognising not only beautiful design, but perseverance, teamwork and the power of adapting and succeeding even in the face of long term illness and disability.
SeaWaves Jewellery operates from its coastal studio and Pod, which will be re-opening February half-term after a short winter break. You can also shop online at seawavesjewellery.com
