Posted on 12th April 2011 | in Heritage & Tourism

Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are asking all dog owners to follow this advice: Clean up after your dog – bag it and bin it. Do not allow your dog to chase the birds on the shore. These birds are often tired migrants or winter visitors. Keep your dog away from stranded seals – they can bite! Ground nesting birds; between April and July please keep your dog on a lead in the dunes and coastal grasslands. Where you come across livestock, please put your dog on a lead.
