FC Amble U10s  12  Newbiggin Reds  0

FC Amble proved too strong for the team from Newbiggin on a blustery morning . Amble were up for this match from the first whistle and went straight on the offensive . Their early pressure was rewarded when captain Billy Handyside unleashed an unstoppable shot from outside the box which flew in to the top corner ( 1 0 ) . Amble doubled their lead after just 4 mins when K Goodwin struck a shot from long range that gave the away keeper no chance  ( 2 0 ) . Amble  Keeper T Hall then made a great flying save at the other end to keep his goal intact .

Amble then went up the other end and once again it was B Handyside who powered down the wing before cutting inside and striking another effort for 3 0 . Not satisfied with this he then scored an even better goal to secure a hat trick all from outside the area .

R Paton then decided he fancied his chances and latched on to a pass from K Goodwin which he despatched clinically ( 5 – 0) . Paton was then first to react after the ball came off the bar and coolly finished from close range ( 6 0 ) . D Handyside then got in on the act and added another ( 7 0 ) before R Paton was once again first to react to also score a hat trick ( 8 0 ) . The most satisfying goal of the day came from D Armstrong who stroked the ball in from the edge of the box against the team he played for the previous season ( 9 0 ) .

J Ford then cut the defence open with a majestic pass for D Handyside to make it double figures ( 10  0 ) .M Kerr then went close after a barnstorming run before D Ramshaw scored a quick fire double from close range to finish the day 12 0 to the seasiders .

It was a great team performance from Amble but to their credit Newbiggin did not give up and fought to the end .
